Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church!
  • Many churches put an inordiant emphasis on outward conformity and reformation while teaching very little on spiritual attitudes of the heart. Attitudes of the Heart is a fourteen study series on the internal attitudes which the Holy Spirit desires to produce in every believer. Use these studies personally, with small groups or base your own sermons upon them.

Jesus told a parable with the purpose of illustrating a key truth about the Kingdom of God. Within this phase of the Kingdom, there will always be genuine believers and false believers dwelling side by side. How can one know the difference? Listen to discover at least one major characteristic of a genuine believer in Jesus Christ.

  • Join the men every other Friday as we explore God's design for manhood. Each week we meet at a different home so be sure to listen for the week's meeting place. "The earthly crisis within manhood will be there until Jesus returns, but in Christ men are pointed toward the gospel as the vision for renewal. Manhood Restored by exciting new pastoral voice Eric Mason combines theological depth with practical insights, putting men in step with a gospel-centered manhood that will enrich every facet of their lives."
  • Join our Women's group every other Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church as they study Beth Moore's "Breaking Free". Beth Moore leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of freedom in Jesus Christ. Themes for this study come from Isaiah, a book about the captivity of God's children, the faithfulness of God, and the road to freedom.

  • In Luke 11 we find a very precious passage of scripture. This is divine instruction from the lips of Jesus Christ himself regarding how to pray. Jesus provides for us a structure for prayer. This is an outline which we are to fill out. It is a skeleton on which we hang the meat of our prayers. This is not all that is to be prayed, but it all should be prayed. Allow this series from the word of God to expose deficiencies in your own prayer life and encourage you to pray as Jesus Christ instructed us.

Six Implications of the Resurrection - Audio & Outline

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Passage: Acts 2:22-42 Outline:

1. The Resurrection Was In God’s Plan From The Beginning

From the first sin of Adam, God set in motion a plan to redeem all of mankind. Although wicked men delivered the Lord Jesus Christ to be crucified, this was according to God’s eternal plan. Here, like with many other truths in scripture, we see the sovereignty of God and the will of man working in tandem to perfectly fulfill all of God’s purposes.

2. The Resurrection Verifies The Authenticity Of The Word Of God

The Law, the Prophets and the Psalms looked forward to Jesus Christ and His resurrection. Not only this, but Christ in His own words predicted that He would rise from the dead after three days in the earth. His resurrection validates the authenticity of scripture and the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. The Resurrection Central Truth Of Christianity And Theme of Our Witness

After He was risen, the disciples acquired a newfound boldness and staked their lives upon the veracity of the resurrection. For this reason Christianity exploded in the first century and continues 2000 years later. The resurrection remains the central truth of the Christian faith and is the theme of our witness.

4. The Resurrection Affirms His Deity And Crowns Him Lord And Christ

Through the resurrection the Lord Jesus Christ clearly revealed himself to be Lord, Saviour, the coming Judge and the Son of God.

5. The Resurrection Demands Repentance From All Men

The truth of the resurrection demands a response from all men. The only response that leads to eternal life and not eternal judgment is repentance and faith. Repentance toward God and faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

6. The Resurrection Has Ushered In New Life For Us

Through Christ’s resurrection, resurrection is now available to us. Both spiritual resurrection at the moment of salvation and physical resurrection at a time yet future when the Lord Jesus Christ returns.
